It’s Good To Hit The Pause Button….
How do we stay upbeat and positive while the negative media is bombarding us?
1. BREATHE THREE TIMES. My Rabbi Bruce Elder recommended taking three deep breaths. Three is an intentional number. In Judaism, the word of G-d is not actually voiced, and can be spoken as a breath. So – you’re taking the presence of God inside and out as you breathe. (I used that breathing technique before surgery, and it was most helpful!)
2. SURROUND YOURSELF IN NATURE.
Take a walk, jog or bike ride outside. Treasure the wind on your face, listen to the birds, and inhale the scent of the flowers. We are all inextricably connected, and nature grounds us into a state of calm. (I have an app of nature sounds on my phone!)
3. HIT THE PAUSE BUTTON.
I’m recuperating this week after surgery, and the doctor advised that I take off this week to rest. (Do I typically rest and do nothing? No….) In any event, I decided I needed to “hit the pause button” – and take off almost everything on my schedule. We can all benefit from a little more rest, couldn’t we?
Our lives evolve from one day to another, just as our stories do.
So let us each take some time to pause and rest. Rejuvenate our spirits. Find some time to just “be” in the moment. Afterwards, we’ll be more ready to tackle obstacles that may come up.
Thank you for your support and kind words on social media over the past ten days. I’m most grateful. They were all a great boost to my spirits.
You just don’t realize how a word, thought or action can change someone’s life.
Let us take time for each of us to pause. Inhale deeply. And feel the gift of being alive right now.
You are most special to me.
WARMLY,
Lynn Sanders

I’m staying up too late…. just needed to talk with you.
When you receive this message, I’ll be in the hospital — having back surgery.
It’s a strange feeling to know that I’ll be having a major procedure for 3.5 hours, and will need to recuperate for a while before I can resume regular activities.
How long will I need? Who knows?
I just know this is a time to have faith. To trust. And to bring all the positive energy from my loved ones on this side and on the Other Side to keep me company.
I’m focusing on having a positive outcome. Do you ever face a situation where you need to trust and let go? Whatever will be will be…
Life is simply a giant lesson. I’m learning all the time. And I really appreciate your kind messages, email posts and private prayers.
Before I take off, I wanted to send a special message out to you. See: https://bit.ly/DM-HonoringYou
Wishing you all the best always,
Lynn

When the Magnolia tree blossoms outside my window, I’m so glad to see those buds opening.
Springtime is a metaphor for renewal to me.
While some of us make time to clean out closets and update files, we can also use this time to reflect and take an assessment of ourselves.
To me, springtime is a reminder to tend to the garden of our soul.
Are we caring for the roots? What’s at our core that needs replenishing? What’s our priority?
Instead of doing – doing – doing, let’s take a deep breath together….
Again… and once more.
Do you feel yourself relaxing? I hope so. As we approach our work, let’s do our best to work smart, not hard.
Facing an upcoming back surgery in two weeks, and knowing I have limited time to get as much done as possible, I’ve become more conscious of time.
Here are my favorite 7 tips on time management:
- Set goals that are achievable and measurable.
- Prioritize wisely, based on importance.
- Set a time limit to complete a task. (You can use a timer in your computer or phone)
- Take a break between tasks.
- Remove non-essential tasks/activities.
- Plan ahead
- Learn to say no.
Wherever we go, let’s make time to be kind to ourselves and one another. Our world needs it more than ever.
If you want to fine-tune your own storytelling skills to build your impact, contact me to qualify for a 30-minute “spring tune-up.”
Here’s to your success,
Lynn

Want to help young superheroes make a bigger difference in the world?
It’s easy to do, and your support can make history with us too.
TODAY is the day!
We’re launching a book fundraiser for the nonprofit, Philanthropy Kids, “The Power Of Giving: Young Superheroes Making A Difference.”
As a sponsor, your name can be featured too!
What does Philanthropy Kids do?
Philanthropy Kids has been devoted to celebrating and inspiring youth to do philanthropy across the world since 1994.
Their flagship program – PAVE (Philanthropy and Volunteerism in Entrepreneurship) has been in schools across the globe, teaching youth from ages 8-22, about the dynamics in a nonprofit, and building their leadership skills.
The Impact Factory, for ages 10-30, builds youth kills in developing and managing their own charitable enterprise.
It’s all about educating our next generation to be more kind, giving, compassionate and loving. There is nothing else like it!
It’s time to hear those positive stories, do you agree? The more positive stories we spread, the more impact we can make. Especially among our youth.
Why reach out to more youth?
Youth suicide is the third leading cause of death.
We need to inspire, motivate and empower them to recognize their value. While kids are vulnerable to negative media, The Power Of Giving can be a light that shines a ray of hope… reminding kids that since other youth overcame challenges to make an impact, they can do it too.
How Does It Work?
After the youth submits their stories, an outside panel of judges will review the manuscripts and decide on the top ten authors. We’re asking the youth to participate in fundraising too.
The ten amazing youth, our “superheroes,” will be interviewed and promoted. Their stories will be published together in a beautifully illustrated children’s picture book. Our marketing team will even promote it to an international best-seller status!
The Power of Giving demonstrates to youth worldwide that their actions matter.
Here’s how you can make history with us as a supporter, donor or sponsor:
1.
Buy gourmet popcorn! (For yourself, friends, family…) The popcorn purchase supports our fundraising. You’ll get the popcorn about two weeks after the closing of our fundraising drive. You can write my name as the “seller” or if you know someone from Philanthropy Kids, you can add their name.
Visit: https://bit.ly/PK-Fundraising or https://bit.ly/PK-Popcorn
2. Be A Donor or Sponsor. To donate, choose any amount — from $1 on up. Sponsors can choose from different price levels. It all makes a difference! See: https://bit.ly/PK-PowerOfGiving
3. PLEASE — Share this news on social media and with your circle of fans. (Feel free to get back to me with your ideas, thoughts and suggestions too!)
Thanks for all you do! Let’s make it happen together.
With love,
Lynn
P.S. ANY donation is greatly appreciated.

While I’ve loved writing ever since I picked up a pencil, I realize that not everyone feels that way.
Do you feel like everything you write must be perfect? That your writing must serve some purpose? That it needs to captivate. Fascinate. Sell. Promote… (etc., etc…)
AND MOST Importantly — Do you feel your writing MUST MOVE PEOPLE TO ACTION??!!??!!!
Lions and tigers and bears, OH MY! How much pressure we put on ourselves.
I’ve felt like that a million times, until I decide to step back and play with words.
What if… we wrote like we were finger-painting words on paper?
What if… we just wrote for fun? For no purpose? For the sheer joy of self-expression?
As a writer, I wrote this blog intentionally in hopes that you’d read my email. And yet, I also enjoy writing for fun. For self-expression. I love how the poetry of e.e. Cummings inspired me to write in new ways.
So, I’d like to suggest an idea for you that can bring you joy.
Let’s build writing muscles by just playing with words.
Practice writing as you would any sport. Just for fun — with NO intention… NO purpose.
Write a letter that never gets sent. Write about a special vacation. Write an imaginary dialogue between people you know.
If you don’t know what to write, start by writing, “I don’t know what to write….” And keep writing those words until new ones come to you.
Let your mind relax. Imagine you’re floating and allow a wave of words to flow over you.
Let your words simmer in a tasty soup.
Imagine your words are ingredients for an amazing dessert. Dabble. Stir. Mix the chewy words with elegant swirls of honey. Savor the sound of words.
To get good at any skill, we all benefit from practicing.
By doing this writing exercise, just writing with no expectations, you may be able to discover a joy in writing that provides a purpose in the future.
If you’re willing to open your heart to writing without judgment, you can discover a wonderful world of self-expression. You can be a kid again. Write any ol’ words and don’t worry about them.
Writing for fun can ultimately lead you to discovering your own voice.
So write on…. The keys to fun are right at your fingertips.
Here’s to your success,
Lynn
